Registration of copyrights: The provision relating to copyright registration are as follows.
There shall be kept at the copyright office a register in the prescribed form to be called the Register of Copyright in which names, titles or work and address of author publishes and owner of copy right may be prescribed. (Sec 44)
1. Registration of copyright: Registration of copyright is optional. Copyright is registration with registrar of copyright by filling Form No. 4 prescribed for this purpose. The main benefit of the registration is that it is an evidence in favour of person claiming the copyright. (Sec 44)
2. Entries in register of copyrights: The author or publisher interested in copyright may file an application in prescribed form along with prescribed fee too registrar of copyright. On receipt of an application in respect of any work may go for enquiry and entered the detail in the register of copyright. (Sec 45)
3. Forms and inspection of register: The register of copyright and indexes thereof kept open for inspection. (Sec 47)
4. Register of Copyrights: Register of copyright shall be prime facie evidence of the particulars entered therein and documents supporting to be copies of any entries therein. ((Sec 48)
5. Correction of entries in the Register of Copyrights: The registrar of copyright may amend or alter the register of copyright by correcting any name, address, particular or correcting any other error which may arise there in accidental slip or omission. (Sec 49)
6. Rectification of register by copyright board: The copyright board on application of register of copyright or any person shall order the rectification of register of copyright.
i) The making of any entry wrongly omitted to the register or
ii) The expunging of any entry wrongly made in, or remaining n, the register or
iii) The correction of any error or defect in the register. (Sec. 50)
7. Entries in the register of copyright etc., to be published: Every entry made in the Register of copyrights shall be published by the registrar of copyright in the official Gazette or any other manner prescribed.
