DeleteIt is advised to start from Essay, short and then Very short answers but Yes, you can write in that pattern as well just write in section-wise means all very short at once place then complete short answers then go for long questions etc. Just Don't attempt randomly like 2-3 from very short then attempting 1 short and next 2 very short then 1 essay etc. don't do this as it is very difficult to correct an unorganised paper so you will lose marks. so make sure you write your paper in an organised way.
